You have to take a 15m wrench on the pully tensioner. This is located on top in the center, passenger side, top, on the 2.2. Then pull the serpentine belt over the alternator pulleys. Make sure your sticker is still there for the correct position of the new belt or you will never get the new one on correctly.

Not on a 95 beretta at least.....first there is no sticker on this model of vehicle that shows the serpentine belt diagram.second that's not at all how you do it. yes its hard maybe impossible to get to. but heres what you do.you will need a 1 ton min. jack which u will use to jack up ur engine and hold it in place. then u need to remove the engine mount on the left side of the engine which blocks the way for u to put on the belt making sure to keep it held up with the jack. then ull have to mess with the tensioner pulley to get the belt on ( which the diagram just so u know looks like an hourglass shape if u have AC and a 3.1 (3100) v6 ). then u mount ur engine again and let the jack down.... good luck a shop just quoted me at 100 dollars to do it for me... u better believe im going to do it myself.

also if u are having problems getting the belt onto the lower pulleys it is possible to jack up your front right tire, remove it and theres a cover in there that's held on by a few bolts that once removed will allow u access to the lower engine thru there. note there is not a way to go from underneath.

i hope this helps i will try to update this post after i actually do the repair but i know that the internet offered me very little information and i had to do my own research on this matter.GOOD LUCK!

btw sometimes u can flick the starter and it will thread a partially set belt for you...CHECK UR DIAGRAM! ------- |O O| \ / OxO / \ tensioner pulley>|O O| -------

it looks kinda like that... im not an ascii artist but the point is that its hourglass config (if u have AC and 3100 V6)the belt does not cross at the X but the point is that the belt goes thru like that.

now go fix ur cars! berettas are a new classic. they don't make em anymore, theyre fast, and their gonna be rare.

How do you replace the sepentine belt on a 1992-96 Chevy Beretta or Corsica?

Usualy the tensioner or idler pulley is spring loaded and can be pulled backwards allowing enough slack for the belt to slip on easily On a 1992-1996 Beretta/Corsica, the upper engine mount needs to be removed in order to remove/replace the serpentine belt. Replace the belt, and reinstall the engine mount.
