If you're relatively handy, this is not a difficult task. The hardest part will be opening the enclosure the control panel sits in.
A typical residential burglar alarm will have a main CPU or control panel usually located in a closet. Depending on the brand, it will be securely closed with a lock or screws. In either case you'll have to get it open. Unscrew, pick the lock, drill the lock, etc. Once inside, you'll see two wire leads (usually RED and BLACK) connected to what looks like a brick shaped object. Sometimes it'll be rectangular and other times it'll be almost cube like. That will be the battery. Carefully pull the two leads off of it, go to your nearest source for specialty batteries (batteries plus?) and purchase compatible model. If the alarm system is disarmed, the beeping will go away after your replace the battery and it charges to capacity. The most important factor will be the size of the connectors and the voltage of the battery (usually 12V). It does not have to be the same brand.
Most smoke detectors have a single 9 volt battery in them. It is the square type that snaps onto the circuit. You should replace them twice a year, one recommended timing is to swap them out when you change your clocks.
You could have a fault in the battery or even a short if so replace the battery
IF MY GARAGE DOOR REMOTE IS NOT WORKING AS WELL AS IT ONCE DID, IS THERE A BATTERY IN IT THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACE??
most of them before electricity was common there were knockers and mechanical bells one of the worst possible wireless technologies is in the burglar/fire alarm systems with every window door and smoke heat glass break detector requiring a battery it becomes rather tedious replacing batteries. most alarms rely on wired phones they tend to function when there is a power failure.
Yes, 3.7V and 3.6V are the volts of lithium battery cells, and one is Li-ion battery cell and the other is lithium polymer battery cell. Both of them can be called as lithium batteries
