First hopefull you know how to take a tire off, next compress the caliper piston, the pads should be loose. Then there are two bolts that hold the top of the caliper on, remove them and take it up and out of the way, the pads will be able to pull loose, replace them the same as they were and put it back like it was, clean all the parts you can. If you have drum brake's, i recomend you have someone who knows what there doing because there are special toold needed and there a little more complicated that disk brakes.

Remove the tire and wheel from your 1999 Chevy Cavalier. Remove the brake spring and the caliper. The brake pads will come off. Tap on the rotor with a hammer or mallet. The rotor will slide off. Reverse the process to install the new brakes and rotor.
