Answer
1) Drive your car into your garage and stop before hitting the wall (harder to do with bad brakes!).
2) Chock the rear wheels so the car does not roll backwards when jacked up.
3) Jack up the car and remove the front wheel(s)
4) Remove the existing brake pads
5) Install the new brake pads in the exact position that the old brake pads were in
6) Re-install the front wheel(s)
7) Lower the jack
