I need to replace the front disk pads on my 1996 MB E300
Probably because you did not align the disk brake pads with the pin that comes out in the pressure plate that you have to screw in in order to replace your disk brake pads, if you llok at the back of the pad there is a long indentation where the pin of the caliper should be aligned in order for the pad to sit flat with the caliper, if you missed this pin your brake pad are definitely working crooked and probably never stop touching the disk brake.
Pads: Similar to front disk pads, except that the caliper piston is retracted by turning clockwise, not pushed directly in.
When changing rear brake pads on a 1999 Honda Civic safely raise and secure the car. Remove the wheels from both sides. Remove the caliper bracket and old pads. Replace with new pads.
This is most certainly your brake pads. On Honda brake pads there is what is called a squealer, a small metal piece that causes that sound you are hearing when your pads get too low. Your best bet is to take your car into a Honda dealer and have them replace your pads and check your rotors. Do not take your car into a midas or gateway because their pads will continue to squeal due to the metals they put in their pads. Also a Honda dealer will replace your pads if they start to squeal within their warranty period.
To replace the brake pads of a Honda Civic it is going to cost anywhere from 144 to 207 dollars. This price increases to as much as up to 289 dollars, if the rotors have to be resurfaced.
It depends on the type of driving you do. I drive in the city and have had to replace the front break pads after 20,000 miles. You need to remove the wheel and check the condition of the rooter and the think-ness of the pads
