You can just pull them off. Just get a good grip and pull nice and steady. Then you can just push them back on.
I had my AC knobs break for my 95 Olds 88 Royale and never did find replacement knobs. I ended up buying another "AC Control" panel off ebay, which is the solution I'd recommend.
It pops right out if you give it a tug. By the way... if anyone has been able to find replacement control knobs I would love to know. I haven't been able to find them anywhere.

I have found that it is only the knob! If you carefully pull the knob off you will see that there is a key slid in the stem. It kinda spreads and gets thrown off a notch or two. Unfortunatly, you must be very gentle with both control knobs. Try just swapping the two to verify that I'm right. The blower resistor has a tendency to go out in these cars, it is a 15 dollar part and is located under the passenger dash. Requires some acrobatics to get to, but can be done by anyone with a will to do so.
The black knobs pop out. Use a flat head screw driver to pry the knobs out, then the bulbs become accessable. The knobs are just as easily replaced, good luck.[This applies to Chrysler's T&C up to the current models]
In an '83, the chances are that you pull the knobs and unscrew the nuts they cover.

It is typically better to use plastic knobs over metal knobs on kitchen furniture. The plastic knobs tend to not scratch the floor as much as metal knobs.

Almost any hardware store will sell knobs that can be used as piano knobs.
