How do you replace the clock light in a 2000 Honda Accord? |
Answer
Don't know. However, the dealer quoted about $50 to replace it. Not worth $50 to me. Too bad they didn't use an LED in the clock.
Answer
If it is in the instument cluster, you can remove the screws, pull it out replace the bulb from the back and reinstall.
Answer
I've replaced the bulb used for backlighting the LCD clock in my 2000 Accord Ex. 1) Attach a piece of masking tape to the console panel below the clock 2) Using a flat-tipped screw driver wrapped in a shop towel, gently pry up the clock to release the clips; then remove the clock by disconnecting the connectors. The module houses the clock and the hazard light switch. 3) The bulb screws onto the LCD clock back and can be easily removed. A replacement is under $2 at the Honda dealer.
However, this LCD bulb is prone to repeated failure.

I followed your advice and it was VERY VERY easy to replace.
It was harded getting to a dealership and getting my tools than replacing the bulb. I paid $1.93 for the bulb and it took all of five minutes to do the job.
Very helpful suggestion and directions.
