I replaced the horn on my 1990 Toyota 4Runner without much problem. The first step is to take off the front grill. (Look in your owners manual for replacing the head lights for instructions to do that). There are about 8 clips that must be undone to get the grill off. Then, on the right side of the car (your left if you are facing it), is your horn (little round black thing) simply remove, cut the wires, strip them, and connect your new horn. I replaced mine with an ArrOOOOOOOOGa horn. Sounds preety cool.

The horn is mounted to the frame behind the driver side front fender (ahead of the front tire). You will have either one horn or two horns. Each horn is mounted with one 13mm bolt. You will have to lay on the ground and look up into the opening below the front fender. To remove, just disconnect the wire and remove the bolt.

1.To access the horn the left front turn signal/parking light housing must be removed. On models with two horns the bumper cover must first be removed for access to the right side horn 2.Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the bracket bolts

The car horn is usually mounted in the front, close to the radiator area as you open the bonnet or hood of a car. To replace the horn, just remove the wires connected to it and unmount it from the frame where it is connected. The way car horns are mounted could be different in every vehicle, but the only similarity would be that these have wires connected to them, with the other end connected to the horn relay.

The horn on a 2000 Rav 4 is located at the front of the small SUV. The horn is behind the bumper and can be replacing by removing the mounting bolts that secure it.
