Remove the plug inside the interior armrest and remove Phillips screw. Revome armrest and two screws that hold door panel to doorframe. Pop the outer cover off the interior door handle. Remove the interior lock knob and remove door panel by popping out tabs connnected to doorframe and lifting up off of window ledge. Remove the two nuts holding exterior handle in place. disconnect the L shaped linkage from the handle.

The trick to getting the L shaped linkage into the new handle is to feed L shaped metal pole through hole in door where exterior handle was, leaving the lower end of this linkage in its slot. Next, feed the end of L shaped pole through the plastic 'hinge' in new handle by folding the hinge over and pushing the end of the L through both sides of the plastic hinge at once. slide the lower loop of the plastic hinge down the L shaped pole to secure pole to handle. Place new handle into door and reverse the process to reinstall interior panel.

I figured out the answer myself. The first thing I did was to attempt to remove the inside door liner. You need to do this to have access to the rods that connect the outside door handle and the inside door handle to the lock mechanism. However, after you remove the inside door handle trim escutcheon (you do not have to remove the screw under the small plastic cap which holds the handle in place) and the the 2 bolts securing the door pannel, you are still unable to remove the door pannel because it is pinched on 3 sides by the closed door. You also need to pull up on the top of the armrest to disconnect the electrical wiring harness for the power window and to reveal the second bolt the holds the pannel to the door frame. The first bolt is under the large plastic cap. The only way I could figure to try to open the door was to snake a wire down from the outside door handle itself. As you pull up on the outside door handle you can get access under the flap hidden by the handle. You only need to go about 12 inches with the wire. I used the ground wire from regular 12 gauge electrical wire because I did not have to strip off the the insulation. I bent the wire to form a small hook on the end and put the hook on the side facing the glass. I only had to fish the wire 3 or 4 times before I caught the rod and the door opened. Don't go crazy pulling hard on the wire because there is an electrical connector for the power door lock that you could catch by mistake. I marked the wire with tape that I used as a snake at about 13 inches so I would not push it down too far. After the door opened I removed the inside door pannel. There are about 6 or 7 plastic clips that hold the pannel on the door. If you carefully pull up on the edge of the pannel you can just see part of the clip which on mine were bright orange. I had a flat trim pannel removing tool that slips around the clip and allows you to apply even pressure on the clip. A thin blade putty knife may also work but you have be very careful or you will pull the clip out of the pannel and damage it. The funny thing is that snaking the wire seemed to re-adjust the connecting rods. There is a plastic clip that holds the rods together and I adjusted it slightly and both door handles were working fine. The clip is hard to see because it is behind the skin of the door but you can follow the rods to find the clip. I hope this helps someone. I never thought I was going to get the door open until the snake worked.

The question you ask is too involved for a proper answer. You need to go to a car parts store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library
