The speedo cable on the 89 prelude is a 2 piece unit. One part originates at the transmission, from the speed sensor unit or something like that. This part mates with the other half midway along the rear side of the valve cover. The second half winds its way to and through the firewall on the drivers side and comes into the cabin just above the clutch pedal or where it would be if an automatic. Here it snakes up and clips onto the back of the gauge cluster. The part that goes into the cabin is easy to disconnect from the cluster but a pain to work out of the firewall. The first half can be a real pain to get the securing clip off the speed sensor to release it. The Chilton's manual does a good job of representing this. Hope this helped.
No it must be a genuine cable. The cable is two piece.
Does a 1998 Honda prelude have a clutch cable
The 1986 Honda Prelude does not have a clutch cable. The 1986 Prelude has a hydraulic clutch instead of the clutch cable.
There is not speedometer cable on a 1996 Honda Civic. There is a throttle cable. Top replace this unhook it from the throttle body and gas pedal. Hook on the new cable to snake it through the firewall. Properly hook the throttle cable to the gas pedal and throttle body.
possible cable Remove from transmission and check if in one piece - if not remove speedometer head and replace cable to transmission and head
To replace the speedometer cable for the 1998 Honda Civic, first purchase the cable for about 7 to about 11 dollars. Then, remove the negative battery cable on the vehicle and open the instrument panel. Remove the three terminal connector from the speed sensor and replace it with the new one.
89 Speedo cableI just paid for a lower speedometer cable. The sensor began in '90. The part price was 35.78 plus shipping. It also has a sensor that sits on top of the transmission case. I'm ordering one from hondapartscheap.com today! To better answer the question, an 89 prelude has both. The speedometer cable attaches to the speed sensor.
I believe there is no cable to the center and speedometer
Speedometer cable replace 1989 toyota
Since you replaced the sensor, and the speedometer still isn't working it is possible that you will need to replace the speedometer cable. Check the cable first to be sure that it is still properly connected, and if so replace the cable to see if that solves the problem.
There is no cable.... Its electronic.
The speedometer cable hooks up to the engine in a Honda Accord. This is how the vehicle is able to calculate speed.
