The water pump is inside the engine, and it is necessary to remove the timing belt to get to it. On the 1994 New Yorker, which is about the same, this means removing the radiator or at least the fans, and then the belts for the alternator, and then the front cover of the engine. Under this you will find the engine timing belt that goes around the two cams, top left and top right. These can't move when the belt is off or it is trouble to get them aligned again. The water pump is under the cover which hides the inside of the engine from you.

In order to do this, you will need: a manual, like the Haynes manual sold at auto parts stores. probably a digital camera and some kind of paint marker so that you can photograph and mark the timing belt before you take it off, so you can get it on exactly. Time to do this is long. Not very good news I'm afraid. The books recommend putting in a new timing belt while you're at it, since it's so hard to get to.

The radiator with the fans still on it can be moved out of the way fairly easily. It is not easy to get the fans off the radiator, they are held on with strange steel clips.
