How do you care for lucky bamboo?

There are lots of ways to take care of the lucky bamboo. One of the methods I have used for myself and found to be really effective are: 1. Pure water The water in the pot needs to be replaced with fresh, clean water once a week and the little pot should be scrubbed to prevent calcium or mineral deposits from building up on the edge of the pot and on the plant stem. 2. Pruning and propagating The plants may be pruned to a more manageable and attractive size, taking care to make a clean cut just above the leaf bract. 3. Trimming of toes It's okay to take the plant out of the water, gently remove the gravel it has embraced, and then prune back the root system. Keep in mind that you only want to do this during the "dormant" growing season which, in the Pacific Northwest, begins about mid-October when deciduous trees begin to lose their leaves. 4. Yellow streak Lucky Bamboo should not be placed in direct sunlight. Diffused outdoor light is best. If you notice the leaves yellowing, immediately examine for diseases or pests.

How do you planting the bamboo tree?

im not sure if you mean to keep it alive, as a houseplant. i don't know how to keep it alive outdoors or to grow it from the beginning, but if you take care of it properly inside it can grow pretty quickly and noticeably. it needs to be in a sunny location, it will be perfectly fine on a windowsill. like any plant, you don't want it near a vent because the change in temperature would be bad for it. you want to keep water on the roots at all times. the roots do not always need to be entirely submerged, though they can be. if it looks yellowish, it most likely needs a larger container because the roots do take up a lot of space. just don't keep the water level too high, keep it as high as you can without being higher than the roots as it could cause mold/decaying of the plant. that's about it, I've kept mine for over a year and i keep needing larger containers. no special food is necessary.

actually it can be both . take bamboo for example it has prop roots but it is not woody. but then a banyan tree is woody but is having prop roots.so i guess the answer is it can be both!Edited answer:Prop roots come out from a woody plant only, in case of bamboo only stilt roots are seen not prop roots.
