Look in the back of the router, you should see a little button that says reset. If you can't find it, then just unplug the power cord and wait a minute or two. It works the same way, it will reset itself.

∙ 15y agoMost routers have a small recessed button on the back or bottom labeled "Reset." You will need to push and hold this button with a paperclip or pen for about 30 seconds. After you press and hold, release. The router should now be in it's default configuration, and you can set it up again using the web interface or the software that came with it.

∙ 12y agoFirst you turn the power off, then count slowly to 5, finally turn it back on. If that doesn't work, then go to the command prompt and type in ping Google.com. If it says request timed out on 1 response, it wont work and you're out of luck

- First of all, you have to power off your computer.

- Find a straighten a paper clip. You will use this to press the reset button.
- Press and hold the "Reset" button.
- "Power" light should blink while you're holding the button.
- hold the "Reset" button for 30 seconds.
- Wait for the "Power" light to stop blinking. When the "Power" light is solid, the reset is complete.

∙ 9y agoUnplugging the router, whether for a few seconds, a few minutes, or a few days would not reset it. All it would do is force a reboot when it is plugged back into power. To reset it (meaning to reset it to factory defaults), you need to have the router plugged into power and then press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds. This will wipe all settings within the router and set it back to the way it came from the factory. If you cannot remember the password to get into the configuration page, then this is the only way that you will be able to get back into it.
