DBonds831 says - This will work, but it will also require resetting the clock, radio stations, etc. It's cheating and if the problem hasn't been fixed, it will only be a temporary fix as the light will come back on. I am researching a similar issue for a 1997 T-Bird and will update when I find the actual answer. What I've heard so far is that by pushing in and holding the trip reset button with the car off, and then starting it while holding the trip reset for 10 or 20 seconds, it will reset the light without having to deal with the fallout of disconnecting the battery.
