turn the key to position two and have the drivers door open for about 40 seconds, the light should automatically go off.. good luck.
just peplace front brake pad and new sensors on my s550 mercede but the sensor light is still on how do i get it to go off
If you replaced the sensors and the light is still on, then you have a wiring issue. You will need to check the wires going to the sensors.
remove the sensors and clean it. then put it back. if the warning light is still replace the sensors it is cheap
If it is a red circle with serrated "parenthesis" to the right and to the Left, then it's your brake warning light. The brake sensors are telling you there is something wrong with the brake system, IE: pads, fluid, sensors, etc.
The vehicle does not monitor the amount of brake life you have left nor does the red BRAKE warning light indicate that pads and rotor need replacement. The red BRAKE warning indicator is meant to warn you when there is a dangerous hydraulic problem with your braking system. Take the vehicle to a professional, who know how to service an automotive braking system. On a vehicle with brake pad wear sensors, if the sensors are new, then you have a broken wire.
Change the brake pads sensors. You must change them after every brake pad swap.
yes take it to a well known parts store like advance auto parts they use a a small hand held computer to reset the warning light
Excessive brake pad wear. Check the pads and look into getting them replaced.
After your brake pads have been replaced, scroll to the brake pad life display. On the brake pad life display hold the scroll button in until the brake pad life goes to 100 percent.
Replace the brake sensor then the message will go away. When you saw the message the sensor is already bad so it need to be replaced along with the brake pads. You don't need to replace front and rear sensors at the same time. Any of them has the pads wearing too much (usually in the rear because Mercedes cars drive by the rear), that where the sensor need to be replaced. There is no electronic reset for brake pad wear message.
FYI - I had a bad alternator. Apparently, a failed alternator may/can/will cause the battery AND brake warning lamps to come on. Alternator has been replaced, and all warning lamps cleared.
that warning noise is telling you your brake pads need to be replaced as soon as possible, plus i would replace them very quickly anyway cause the noise is annoying
