This one has been asked and answered so many times here.
First off the light is indicating a problem with your engine, more specifically the emissions control system and the problem must be addressed before the light will go out.
After the repairs have been made an OBDII scan tool can clear the trouble code and reset the light, most parts supply stores have them for diagnostic use and will do it for you for free. You can also remove the engine computer fuse or disconnect the battery cable to reset the light but the codes will still be saved in the computer and like I said before if the problem has not been addressed the light will just come on again.
