How do you reset the maintenance light on a 2005 Toyota Tundra?

reset maintenace lightProbably the same way as done on the Toyota rav4. My wife has the rav4, I just tried this trick and it worked perfectly. I read it here.I have a 2005 tundra and have not reached the 5000 mile mark yet. But I will try this on my tundra when the maintenance light comes on.

Turn ignition on, don't start the engine, just ignition on, press the odometer button in and hold in. (make sure your odometer is reading the actual milage, not the trip meter)Turn ignition off while still holding od button in.Turn ignition on again, still holding od button in, the od reading will displayshort dashed lines like this: ------. Keep holding the button in.Watch as the dashed lines begin to decreas and finally disapear.The odometer then should return to reading out the milage again, and the maintenance light will not come back on. At leats not till you reach another5000 miles. It is dsigned to come on and bug you as you reach 5000 mile intervals. Resetting this maintenace light will in no way shape or form hurt your Toyota.This "maintenance" light is a clever way to get you to see the Toyota service department. Good luck.Jeff
