There is no way to play as Yoshi in New Super Mario Bros. You can play as Luigi, and you can ride a Yoshi in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but Yoshi does not even appear in the New Super Mario Bros. story.

∙ 13y agoIf you are talking about the wii version then first you hit a ? block. Then if there is a Yoshi egg green blue pink or yellow the a Yoshi will come out. When it does jump on him. You will then access to ride Yoshi's back. But be careful! Don't be useless with Yoshi or he will run away!
