Assuming you are fighting a windows operations system computer (Windows 98, XP, etc.)and are holding a two button mouse: moving the mouse, locate the arrow on the screen on top of the image and click on it with the right button on the mouse. This should open up a dialogue box offerring choice of placement for the copied image. Know thy computer.

∙ 12y agoWhen Saving As... type the name then .jpg and it will be saved as a jpg. However jpgs are pictures and if it dosent save as a jpg it might have some issues such as being too big of a file for a jpg, lacking the appropriate header information or any of hundreds of different reasons..

∙ 10y agoOpen photo then go to File -> Save for Web and Devices, it will open new window, you will see Preset: and text box next to it at top right corner, below is drop down list with GIF, JPEG, PNG 8, PNG 24 and WBMP in list, choose JPEG and on right side you will see Quality: drop down list, at this list you can choose quality for this image from 0-100. On left side of window you have preview of photo with that chosen settings. Next option is File -> Save and choose JPEG(JPG, JPEG, JPE) from Format: drop down list.

The above procedure is normally used to save JPG images that have been reduced in size for sending in an email, posting on the web or other computer viewing purposes.
If you want to save an entire photo (not resized) you can go to File -> Save As. From the Format dropdown in the window that opens, choose JPEG and click Save. Another screen will appear where you can choose the quality of image you want and click OK. A quality setting of 10 is good enough for almost all purposes but if you want the highest possible quality use 12. The higher the quality number the larger the filesize it creates.

Otherwise, use the "print screen" button to capture the image on your Windows clipboard. Then open Paint and click "edit/paste" or "paste from clipboard" then save the Paint image as an image file.
