The Glass Versions. Put the picture on the glass under the lid of the scanner - make sure that the corner is up to where the arrows indicate that they should be. Close the lid slowly so that you don't make the paper fly and you set up the options in the panel - choose whether you want a color scan or black or white, and what kind of paper you are using. There should be a finish/start button on the printer somewhere that you press after you finish.
The Suck-Into-Machine-and-Spits-Out-Paper Version. Set your picture in the tray and resize the tray so that the picture will fit snugly into the scanning portion. It's pretty much the same as above - you set up the printer/scanner so that it's scanning the picture and make sure you choose whether you want it photocopied or scanned into your computer. Then you make the choice of black and white or color scan and you hit the finish or start button, depending on your scanner.
