Industrial machine needles come in many different lengths but if it is a flat there are usually two types commonly used these are 134R For Pfaff and heavey duty machines and 16x231 for Singer,Brother,Juki,and other lite weight machines.
When using an industrial overlock b27 is the one usually used.

∙ 11y agoThe sewing thread is woven through the machine in a certain pattern, which allows the machine to do it's purpose of bringing together the 2 sides needing to be sewn.
The needle goes up and down with the thread, the under thread catches it in a full sweeping motion, brings it back to finish each stitch made, then continues on to the next thread/knotting action. This takes place in milliseconds.
If you a re a novice, please be careful. Nothing more painful than having a finger i the wrong place at the wrong time. Always see your whole works space, make sure you have direct light on your work. I have gotten my fingers under the needle. Or in the finger. Not good when YOU have to remove it.
Know how your machine works, take it apart, put back together again.
