In all cases, you will need to have the inmate's id #. You can set them up an account through western union if that is the company that the facility uses. Once you ha ve their id # and facility id, you can even go online using your credit card to send them money and so forth.
I use www.konmart.com to send money to my family member in prison...takes about 5 days for them to get it but it's cheaper then the alternative and reliable.
Another reliable resource is:
JPay, Inc.
P.O. Box 530955
Miami, FL 33153-0955 (800) 574-5729
Note that their web site is jpay.com NOT jaypay.com That is a rip off copycat site. I have used jpay.com in past and it is the correct site.

You must contact the institution to determine if it is even allowable to do so. Many (most?) penal institutions will not allow inmates to have access to hard cash.

Georgia DOC has an inmate search function at the related link below. However, the website may not always be up to date. You can get the best information by calling.
Contact the detention center to determine whether this person is an inmate. Jail and prison websites are often not frequently updated or reliable. If you want to know whether someone is in custody, you would do much better to call or show up at the center.
Contact them. See below link:
