Then let the water sit in sun, allowing the water to evaporate, thus leaving the sugar crystals. Wa-la, you have separate the sand from the sugar.

Assuming you've measured equal amounts of all 3 and put them in a pan.

Pour in water and boil it - the sand will settle to the bottom and the sugar and salt will dissolve in it. After you can't see the salt or sugar anymore, filter the sand from the liquid and that's your sand separated!

You could use suction filtration on the remaining liquid at this point to get rid of any water and be left with sand and sugar solids which you have now to separate further..

Now, you've got salt and sugar. Tricky?

The sugar is organic and is soluble in organic solvents like alcohol, whereas Salt is insoluble in alcohol. So if you add alcohol to the mixture, you will be left with 2 layers - the salt will be on the top layer, presumably, unable to mix with the alcohol.

Filter off this layer by running the lower layer (alcohol + sugar)(mmm lol) into a bowl (e.g.) from a container with a tap. Then run the top layer into another container.

Now, filter the salty water (perhaps with filter paper, or suction filtration) to leave your salt and in the other container, let the alcohol evaporate then sugar will be left!
It depends in part on how you define "salt" and "sugar". If by salt you mean sodium chloride and if you mean glucose as sugar and you do not wish to destrory any of the substancesthen i suggest using a soxlet extractor and 15-crown-5 ether to remove the sodium chloride form the mixture. Followed by a methanol soxlet extraction to recover the sugar, use ethanol if the sugar needs to be "safe" (non-toxic) for biological use. the remaining solid is sand.

The sugar will dissolve into the water and the sand will stay on the bottom of the container. You can accelerate the process of the sugar dissolving by stirring or heating the water. Then pour the mixture/solution through some filter paper to remove the sand, and heat the solution to evaporate of the water, leaving the sugar.

Put it in water. The sugar will dissolve, the sand will not.

You will end up with sugar water with sand at the bottom.

Now you can pour the sugar water in a separate container and boil it.

this will leave you with sand in one container and sugar in an other.

The easiest way would be to dissolve the sugar in water, and then filter out the sand. You can then evaporate the water, leaving crystals of sugar sometimes known as "rock candy".
