after three years I finally got it.
1- turn the radio off (seems to be the key with all Pioneer radios when setting the clock)
2- press 'func' until the display lights back up
3- press 'func' again until the clock appears with the hour flashing
4- use the up and down buttons to select desired hour
5- press 'func' to set the hour
repeat steps 4&5 for the minutes

∙ 11y agoTurn off the radio/cd player by holding the source button.
Press in and hold the volume knob. After a few seconds, the initial setup menu will pop up. Turn the knob in either direction until you see CLOCK.
Press the directional volume button to the left and right to select hours or minutes, and press it up/down to adjust the time.
