A three fold poster board
make sure the title is very very large and easily readable
use borders on any pictures and information
don't put huge paragraphs on it
use lots of unique creative decoration
drawing things in yourself is a plus if it's not done sloppily
first, either get a nice more neutral-tone trifold board and put the title to your experiment in big bold-font letters near the top. the most straight-forward way to set up a science fair board is to neatly (they WILL grade your neatness) type up your information in scientific method format. you'll need to make large-font headings titled "question", "materials", "hypothesis", "experiment data", and "conclusion". you'll also want a spot in the lower right for "research", which will be set up like a works cited page.
under each heading, type out your info. it should be self-explanatory. list your materials, guess what will happen, etc. you can make this part look nice by cutting it out and pasting it on the board separately with a backing of a bright-colour construction paper square. if you gathered information that can be graphed, take the numbers into Microsoft excel and make a pie chart or line graph that corresponds and put it up there. it'll be easier for the judges to instantly understand your data.
snaz up your board with glue-ons. things like poster border, which you can get at any schoolhouse store in the area. if your experiment was with bugs, get some little bug magnets and superglue them on there or something to make it look more eye-catching. be sure to have your paper neatly bound and printed on the table in front of your trifold board.
Remember to always add pictures where appropriate, leave as little "white space" as possible, and it never hurts to use colored construction paper as a backdrop for printed out pages.

well it depends on what you have for a science project but you should put your prediction then what you did then your results tell me if this helps
You write all of the stuff thats on your board like Hypothesis:blah blah blah..
Background research is when you do research on your science fair subject before you do your experimentation. This helps you learn about your subject. You write this in a report form. Always remember to do a bibliography, which means siting the places you got your information. When you do your background information, you should type it because it makes you look more professional and the judges like that. When it comes down to it, you should type all of your pages for your science fair.
so you can learn alot of stuff like science you know..
There are plenty of great 8th grade science fair projects. You could play with something like air concepts for example.
i think you should just think of questions you could do like... which food does the hamster go to first? or which imviorment does he or she like best please give me a vote!
make sure everything on your board is organized, memorize what is on your board so you don"t have to read off it, stand tall adn dress nice. judges like nice impressions. these are things i did forn my science fair and got 2nd place out of 60 students.
Be creative and use a display board. You should have pictures but it is not a necessity. You should have the name of your project typed out and put in bold letters at the very top. Then you should have smaller titles like what the project is about and what your hypothesis was and why are you doing the project. Have a colorful background and don't forget to be creative.

This question of are pulleys a good science fair project is up to the person choosing the project. If you like it then you should do it. If not then don't do it. The choice is up to you.
it should have what your project is about like if you do which popcorn pops the fastest your poster would have a picture of popcorn

it is also the same at the board of a chess it is also the same at the board of a chess
as you put stuff on the science board like A Demetria of your project it gets better.try this and its up to a pass of first place

it mean the result of your whole project like a short summary
