The weight goes above the bait about 6 to 10 inches.
there are many other ways to set up ur line then that but that is the easiest and i think it is the best to get a fish hooked good. there is also the one that u first put a small bobber then 3" of line and tie a swivl after that u take 6" inches of line and put a hook in the midle of that line and tie a swivl to it and last u tie 3" of line to that with 3 # 5 sinkers to that. if it doesnt sink then u need more weight or a smaller sinker. this setup is to keep ur bait 6" off the bottom and mainly for a live bait like shad worms or other midium sized bait. doesnt work well in fast curant unless u use larger sinkers.
set your drag too 1
Long line fishing is a commercial fishing style. Long lines can be miles in length. A float is set up at either end, sometimes with a light, the line is paid out and hooks are baited. The line is set out for a period of time and then is reeled in. Fish caught on the line are unhooked and collected. The advantage is that the line does not need to be tended when it is set out. The length makes it likely that some fish will be caught somewhere along its' length. The disadvantage of using long lines is that many fish are caught that are not commercially usable. They are discarded into the ocean. This can be a wasteful process if the lines are set out poorly.
A Chorus Line is set at an audition. As it was an audition for a Broadway show, the musical is set in New York City.
It just depends what line captivity your reel has if your reel can hold around 140yards or higher it would be find. If your using braided line go for it . Besides your reel has a 14 pound drag. Fishing reels have drag lbs not set line weight.
The distance poles are set up at fractions 1 furlong (1/8 of a mile) also called the 1/8th pole is closest to the finish line. Then you have a 1/4 pole and a 3/4 pole. Many tracks have more poles than this.
I would say about 8. harpooning, netting, set line, worm and hook, spinner, bowfishing, trolling, deep sea.

The thickness of fishing line depends on two factors; the material it is made of and the breaking strength of the line. For monofilament line, made by pulling a plastic compound through a shaping die, lines can be as thin as .15 millimeters (mm) for two pound test and .48mm for 25 lb. Monofilament line has a stretch factor and can increase up to 25% in length when stretched. If the lines are made of woven Spectra or a similar material, 6 lb. can be as thin as .1mm. This varies by manufacturer. This type of line has very little stretch, sometimes as low as 1/2%. Because of this, reel drags need to be set to a lower limit to minimize line breakage. Please note that this is an average diameter, at least for the extrusion-process monofilament lines.Dacron was also used for fishing line and the diameter varied depending on the number of strands woven into the line. Similar to Spectra-type lines, it has little stretch.Thediameterof the fishing line is usually identified on the packaging of the fishing line.

The equater is real. It is the set of points on the earth, making up a circle, that represet the 0th line of latitude, i.e. that is 90 degrees away from the north and south poles.
