Here are the steps involved:
- Register for a Pokémon Trainer Club account on the official site, and then you can start your Pokémon Black or Pokémon White game.
- Go to "Continue, New Game" menu and select the "Game Sync" option (in order to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi so that the Global Link server can register a Game Sync ID for you).
- Once your ID is registered, go to the Pokémon Global Link site and log in to your Trainer Club account via the log-in form there. This will direct you to a page where you have to enter your Game Sync ID and your Global Link nickname (which can be anything you want, as long as it's appropriate).
