You can not if you're an American? Would you say that if he or she were Spanish, or French or German? Hmmm that's a rather stupid answer! I would never tell someone not to try to learn a language or master an accent…how do you now an American or anybody else can not master a particular language or accent? I say go for it try listening to Italian music, or watching Italian films or television from southern Italy if that's the type of accent you want. Oh and to the person who answered before me…maybe you should learn how to express yourself in the English language before you start criticizing people about learning Italian…I bet your accent is horrible in English too…personally I like French better than Italian!

You cannot if you are American. I was born in Italy and therefore am Italian, and I speak with an accent. It's impossible to master unless of course you are from there. Please don't try it.
