dump out the gas from the tank then keep the mower on choke and pull the string ten times
A Different MethodRemove the spark plug and pull on the string several times to "blow" the excess fuel out through the spark plug hole. Inspect and dry/clean/replace the spark plug as needed. If flooding continues, then either the carburetor needs adjusting, or the fuel float is stuck open.
The engine floods and you have to wait for the lawnmower to drain before you start it up again or it might start smoking.
As long as the battery in the lawnmower is a 12 Volt battery you will be fine.

If the wrong oil is used in a lawnmower, do not start it. Simply drain the oil as completely as possible and fill with the proper oil.

Wait for the fuel to evaporate for a couple of minutes before trying to start it.
(1) You can let it rest for about 20-30 minutes then try again. (2) You can remove the spark plug and crank the engine a few rounds to expel the extra fuel from the combustion chamber.
