How do you replace the timing belt on a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer?
Yes it does
Change the belt
Timing Chain
I have a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer, and my mechanic said it should be replaced every 50,000 to 60,000 miles.
The Lancer ES has a timing belt that should be changed every 100k miles. I own a Lancer ES myself, and found out the hard way, when the belt on mine broke.
right above the crank timing belt tooth pulley. Remove the harmonic balancer the lower half timing belt cover and you will see it.
60000 miles
Interference, so make sure you replace the timing belt and the water pump, otherwise you'll do some serious damage.
Its happening to me too i'm almost convinced its a loose serpentine belt
Change it every 60,000 miles.
The 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer has only a 2.0 liter engine which has a cam belt that should be replaced every 60,000 miles. This is not an interference engine. The 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse has a 2.4 which has a cam belt the MUST be replaced every 60,000 mile and it is an interference engine. I see nowhere that the Lancer was equipped with a 2.4 liter engine.
