It's better to stay away from them, don't talk or have contact with them because you won't know what they might do to you.
If they have hurt you, run faster than you, and/or do horrible things without a reason, you better stay with a friend that may protect you or talk and chat with a teacher, because bullies don't dare to attack someone stronger.

Is bullying normal in high school?
I don't know whats normal, I was bullied all 12 years of school. It slightly lessened in High School, but did not stop. In fact it was in High School that I began to get the delusion that the bullies were putting thoughts in my mind to kill myself (that made me more angry at the bullies than anything they ever did for real: of all places they had no right entering my mind and putting thoughts that weren't mine there). For me the bullying did not stop until sometime in my first year of college.
