How do you stop glacier disappearance or glacier retreat?

By initiating another glaciation.

Glaciers have only been around, this ice age, for about 3 million years.
Before that time there were other ice ages and warm periods between them.
Going further back there were periods of millions of years without glaciation.

Glaciation is only the norm during an ice age and not at other times. The world climate changes all the time.
