An "inseam" measurement is the length from the crotch to the floor. On men, tailors usually ask on which side do they "dress" meaning on which side of the pants are they more comfortable wearing their scrotum.
Measure your waist around the belly button, your backside around the widest part, and the length as you kneel (no bending!) from the navel to about an inch above the floor.
