Put them in rich dirt in a pot with good drainage (a hole in the bottom with a tray under the pot is best), water them once a week or so (less water is better than more), and keep them in decent light. It's pretty easy, and once you do it for a while, you start to get the hang of it.

This is a very open question as you don't mention the type of Orchids you have.

Rainforest species.

For the tropical or warm climate species you need to replicate the natural environment of high humidity and temperatures above 20 degrees C.

Many are epiphytes, gaining moisture and nutrient from the air while living on (but not being a parasite of) a host tree's branches often high above the rainforest floor.

When cultivated these orchids are often attached to a board or basket for hanging.

Some Sphagnum moss tied to the board will allow the roots somewhere to hang on to. Plastic coated "twist tie" is ideal for tying and attaching.

They should not be fed with normal strength plant food.

Regular feeding with a 1/2 strength solution of soluble indoor plant food ,,or as directed if using a commercial Orchid food, during Spring and Summer will keep them healthy.

If potted they should be grown in an open, free draining mix of rough materials such as bark chips or choir fibre or a commercial Orchid mix.

Cool Climate Species.

Cymbidiums are by far the most popular of the cool climate species with a huge variation in flower size and colour.

They are generally grown potted in a commercial Orchid mix and fed as above.

Temperature is not critical as they will survive very well in a protected spot even in frosty areas.

They should be allowed to crowd the pot before being depotted and split up.

Make sure that at least one older bulb (called back-bulbs) is retained with each new clump for continued flowering.

Native Orchids.

A huge variation in types and styles. Most not as flashy as the purpose bred commercial varieties but all still charming in individual ways.

A tiny flower is no less attractive than a huge one. It's just smaller.

Terrestrial and epiphytic types are both very desirable.

They can come from tropical or temperate climes and should be grown accordingly.

Check your local laws before collecting from the wild.

feed as above.

Pests.

Scale insect is probably the most common and can be easily treated with home made, non toxic, white oil. Recipes abound online.

I have done a scientific test and it shows that of you are growing a flower in water or a house plant it Will help if you put Sprite (yes the soda pop) in with the flower. It will grow 5x better than if in regular water.

Potted herbs are quite easy to grow, as long as you have plenty of light, water them as required (check a good herb book, or the plant info tag, for specifics) and remember to fertilize them with a water soluble fertilizer (see package directions) you should have no difficulties. Make sure the pots are big enough for the mature plants, harvest what you need as you need it and if you live in an area where you ca, get them outside for at least part of the year and you (and they) will be happy.
