salamander pupa are usually herbivore and eat the muck off the bottom of the aquatic source but other species like the tiger salamander are carnivorous eating the unhatched brood and small aquatic life. if you find eggs in the wild it is best to leave them be the survival rate is even smaller with humans than in the wild. when i was younger i hated the answer ''leave the wild life be'' so out of experience leave them be. i have around 10,000 rough skinned newt i am raising captive but they are captive.

My best guess is to keep them in a safe spot and warm. Not hot, but normal
