If you don't know...The best way to find out is to buy a book about your parakeet. By 'green' do you mean an Alexandrian? A Green budgie? A Lineolated parakeet?

Most birds have a lot of things in common that you have to do... feed everyday, provide fresh, clean water everyday, toys, perches, stuff like that, but most different kind of birds need different kind of care.

Go to your local book or pet store and ask if they have a book on the type of parrot you have or will have and take it from there.

you can attend a free mickaboo bird class .

they take care of themselves is by calling for their mothers for help. If you don't get this then here is an explanation: the babies are calling the mother--calling the mother that's how they take care of themselves

NOTE: I made this up....XD

Make sure you have the following:

  • Cage, with pull-out tray for newspaper and grid above. Get a fairly sized cage, don't give them a shoebox-sized one. A good cage will probably cost around $60.
  • Newspaper, for bedding and something for crap to land on
  • Perches, probably about two to four. The more the better, but not too many.
  • Food and water bowls. Preferably above all perches so you bird can't crap in them.
  • Food and water. These are essential if you plan on keeping your parakeet alive.
  • Toys. Preferably without mirrors, as the parakeet will bond with the other 'bird' in the mirror over you.
  • Cuttlebone and/or a cement perch. These will keep you bird's feet and beak nice and trimmed.

I am guilty of not doing this, but when you get your bird, it probably can't fly. That's nice. However, it will start to grow more feathers on its wings and be able to fly, causing much frustration as your bird gets out of the cage and you have to get it back in. So, take you bird to an avian vet and get its wings clipped.

It is very important that your bird can hop around outside the cage, as it will get a new scenery and find new things. This is also a great opportunity to train your bird.

Change your bird's newspaper often. It will crap on it, and then you have to replace it. The bird itself doesn't smell, but if you let the crap pile up, it will. You may want to get an odor protectant. Colored newspaper could be harmful to your bird if they try to peck at the newspaper, but mine doesn't, and that's what the grid is for.

Hanging perches are a great addition. This will keep your bird active (at least in my case).

Parakeets love millet sprays. Have a bag of these handy at all times. When training your bird, at first, it WILL bite you. And it hurts. I suggest wearing thin gloves at first. If your bird gets pretty aggressive, offer it a millet spray bunch. If it's not too freaked out, it might nibble on it.

Some of the top tips in caring for a parakeet are to regularly change towels or paper that you have lining their cage. It is best to use copy paper as opposed to newspaper. You should also change the food and water daily and try to get the parakeet on a pellet diet. The use of treats is also good for training the bird.

unless it was fertalized by a male parakeet, their is nothing you can do about it.

if it was fertalized, then you let the parakeet take care of its egg. simple as that

you have to give them water, food, love, and let them out in your house as often as you can because that gives them exercise. Also a parakeets diet shouldn't be just seed!:)

This depends on what type of parakeet. The term parakeet can refer to any number of unrelated bird species.

How do you take care of the eggs your parakeet had?

For parakeet eggs, letting the parents incubate the eggs and raise the young is best. If you plan on breeding your parakeets I would recommend getting books or reading on the internet information specific to the species of parakeet you would like to raise, there are many different types and each type has its own special needs. If you have only 1 parakeet and it has lain an egg on the bottom of the cage you may discard that egg. Since there is no boy bird, and the egg was not laid in a nest specific to that type of parakeet it will not hatch.
