the Dakota is a single dash. start by adjusting your steering wheel all the way down and shift to low gear. now you can start to pull the top left corner of the front dash. the whole thing is clips only. and for the wiring use a wiring harness makes it easier. from scosche the part is bbcro1ab. there is 3 plugs. 1 flat black and 1 flat gray. 3rd is a single wire. that's your ground wire. if you have the infinity system make sure you hook up the blue wire(amp turn on)from the radio to the blue wire of the scosche harness. the harness you can get from Walmart and the mounting kit for under $20. job time is about 30 mins
