If the parents are still friendly, let them sit down together and speak with the child. If the parents are on bad terms with each other then the best thing to do would be buy a book for your child! I guess it really all depends on who the child lives with. If it is 50/50 then there are a few books that will help both parents and children out! Don't ever put blame on either parent. Explain to the child that it really isn't their fault (or is it ;)...just kidding). Explain that things will be different, but you both still love this child and though things change the both of you will be there for the child. If you can't talk to the soon to be ex-spouse without fighting, then leave everything up to email...that way you will have less communication issues. Keep in contact for the child's sake. I must also say that if your child is in school have him/her talk to someone at school. Or find a professional to speak to your child! Hope that helps. If your child is a girl, they have a book by American Girl called something like Dealing with Divorce. But it mainly sides with the mother making the father look bad or to make it seem like the father wouldn't have sole custody!

To tell your son that you are getting a divorce, you should not put the blame on either parent. Both of you sit down with the child and tell him that it simply isn't working and sometimes people grow apart.

You are dating a married man and you have a child together but he want to divorce his wife but the problem is he is not working what should you do?

Tell him to get a job if that is the only problem, other than his marriage, that is keeping him from getting a divorce. Maybe that is just an excuse he is telling you because he doesn't want a divorce. What does having a job really have to do with a divorce anyway?
