You CAN't, unless you remove the oil pan and count the main cap bolts. If it is not a 4-bolt main it will only have 2 bolts per main cap.
Same bolt pattern for what? For the bellhousing and starter, yes. For just about everything else, no.
no it wont just bolt on....
They are 5on 5 chevy just like all the others
5X5 , just like Chevy half ton truck, some vans (including astros) Old caprices had the smaller bolt pattern
It just unscrews, It is real tight.
yes you can. pretty much every chevy trans has the same bolt patern. you will just need a transfer case that will bolt up with a passenger drop for the front axle.
No such thing, just remove them. However there is a sequence to tightening them.
Depends on the use but bigger is always better. A 12 bolt is the best for racing and is the strongest but a 8.5" 10 bolt will just about hold up as well.
They look the same.
I'm pretty sure that I just used a 14mm
Absolutely. The ONLY parts that aren't interchangeable between a 2 bolt and 4 bolt block are the main bearing caps themselves. The crank, rods, pistons, camshaft, oil pump, etc, are ALL interchangeable. So yes, the pistons will work just fine.
A 'stock' Chevy manifold bolt pattern is different from a 'stock' Ford bolt pattern, so the 'stock' carburetors are not interchangeable. If you are using an aftermarket 'universal' carb or going from a aftermarket intake manifold on both cars, it just might fit. Just check the bolt hole dimensions on the carb and the Ford before you start.
