How do you tell if crankshaft sensor is bad on Chevy Tahoe?

The crankshaft position sensor is located right above the starter, you may have to remove the starter for better visibility.

It is behind the starter. You will have to remove the starter to service it.

That year did not use one.

It is right behind the starter and bolted into the side of the engine block. You will have to remove the starter to service it.

Usually, the RPM guage wont jump when u try to crank it.
