For the starting position, test the voltage at the starter solenoid (small wire) when the key is at the start position. A test light can also be used. Be careful because there is ALWAYS a possibility that the starter can engage when doing this. Best to disconnect the battery, connect the leads, then reconnect the battery and do the test. Be sure to test ALL of the connectors as well, especially if it is an older car... Reseating them can help clean corrosion from the connector terminals. If you need to test the run position, check voltage at the coil.

WHAT SIZE IS YOUR MOTOR AND I CAN TELL YOU
If you can tell me were it is I can tell you how to remove and replace it. I'm having a problem with mine and I can't find the d#m% thing. And it may not be the ignition switch if you van isn't starting it may be the neutral safety switch.
A bad ignition switch, on your 1995, Mercury Voyager, will cause the vehicle not to start. In most cases a bad ignition will cause the engine not to turn over.
The 1989 Chevy Caprice came with 3 different engines. 4.3L V 6; 5.0L V 8; 5.7L V 8; Easy to tell if you have a V6 or V8, but not so easy to tell if you have the 5.0 (305) or 5.7 (350).The 1989 Chevy Caprice came with 3 different engines. 4.3L V 6; 5.0L V 8; 5.7L V 8; Easy to tell if you have a V6 or V8, but not so easy to tell if you have the 5.0 (305) or 5.7 (350).
What, exactly, is the problem?
It should tell you on the air conditioning unit but it's more than likely R12. I have an '89 Caprice and it takes R12.
Yes, but we can not tell you how to do this as this would be illegal if the car was not yours.
Do you mean how to tell if it is broken?
