How do you tighten a drive belt on a 99' stratus?

[Edit]

If there is only one belt, your belt tensioner (looks like a metal arm with a wheel on it) should be doing this for you. How loose is it? If you push on it, it should deflect (move) only about a 1/2 inch.

First I would look to see if the belt is routed through everything it should (there should be a sticker under the hood with a diagram of it, my 97 has it right up front) and that its seated properly on all the pulleys.

If all in order there, I would check the tensioner. If you can get to it, try to move it. Push or pull it away from the belt. If it moves easily, its broken. If its difficult to move, it should be fine.

Last, you belt possibly could have just stretched and would need replacing.

Hope I helped.
