How do i train my cat to a litterbox?

Popular wisdom seems to be that you just move the litter tray nearer the door and eventually outside and into a flower bed. Then you can remove it altogether. If the cat is small you can go out with them and scratch around in the dirt with your fingers, or pick up their paw and use it to scratch the dirt. Instincts kick in and they know what this means. It worked for all of our kittens. Just be careful while doing that though, because some kittens HATE IT when you get a hold of their paw and simulate pawing... They just IGNORE the act all together sometimes if you do things that they didn't intend to do.

move its litter box outside,then about a week later just spred its litter on the grass,then about another week later just let it go outside...some times u have to do this process a little slower

Here is a tip that has worked for me in the past. after your kitten has gone #2 some where other than the litter box, pick it up and place it in the litter box. Then take the kitten to smell the litter box several times during the day.After awhile it will learn that is where it goes

This is a good answer you could train it but if you don't know how go to your local library borrow a book about how to train your cat to do it's business in it's litter box if you can't find the book ask a person that works there and ask them if they could find a book about training your cat to go do it's business it's litter box.

Training a cat to use a litter box is really easy. Put the litter box near where the cats stay and show them to go there if they have an accident in the floor. Most cats will automatically use the box without being trained.
