To get songs from your old iPod onto a new iPod:
Open "My computer" then "File E:" (make sure your iPod is plugged in). Click "Tools" then, "Folder options", then "View", and click on "Show hidden files and folders". Click on "Ipod_control", then "Music", and you should find your scrambled songs, given strange names such as WNKF in folders named "F" with a number beside it (ex. F01). Select the folders and cut (or copy) and paste them into your documents or desktop. From there, you can import them into iTunes and you will find they will still have their original names, album artwork, artists, etc. once you import them there. Put the songs onto your iPod as you normally would and enjoy!
To move the songs from your old iPod into new one, you have two options. Do it manually or download third party software that will do it for you.
Follow the directions below to do it manually:
1) Make sure your iPod is plugged into your computer. Then go to My Computer and go into your iPod folder
2) In the window menu option, click "Tools" -> "Folder Options" and click on the "view" tab
3) Scroll down until you see the heading: "Hidden Files and Folders"
4) Below the heading, click on "Show hidden files and folders" and click OK to exit out of that window Now find the folder named "iPod Control" in your old iPod. Copy and paste the folder named "iPod Control" from your old iPod to your new one. You should first copy the folder onto Desktop and then transfer it into your new iPod. Remember to put your folder in the same exact place as your old iPod. If you are successful, you will see all your songs and playlists on your new iPod.
If you have music backups of the old iPod in iTunes, you can easily sync the songs with the new iPod. If you don't have backups, you are also able to transfer purchased songs from the old iPod to iTunes using the "Transfer Purchases" function of iTunes. You won't be allowed to transfer the songs from the old iPod to computer or new iPod if the songs are not from iTunes. This is how to transfer music from old iPod to new iPod with the "Transfer Purchases" function of iTunes: Step 1. Plug the Old iPod into computer via the USB cable. Then launch iTunes. Step 2. Click "File > Device > Transfer Purchases". iTunes will automatically transfer the songs to iTunes library. Step 3. Plug the new iPod into computer. Then import the songs from iTunes to the new iPod.
you cant. you have to have the music on your computer. and after that just sync it,
plug your ipod to the computer, open itunes, select Music and manually transfer the song to the ipod
if you have a Macintosh: use the name of your old ipod on your new ipod.
Sync it with your iTunes library and transfer the songs from the library onto the new iPod or plug them both in at a time and transfer it from iPod to iPod by dragging the songs in one into the other. or also with limewire helps to!! answered by nicky bear
Yes, if you buy a new iPod, you can still keep all of the music that you have saved on your iTunes, and then transfer it to your new iPod. The old iPod is simply a device to store the songs, and does not remove them from the computer.
Not unless you tell it to.
Yes you can, plug your iPod into iTunes. When your iPod show up on the left hand bar, click it. If ANY syncing is done when you open iTunes cancel it immediately. When you are on your iPods page hit "backup" and it will save a file of everything on your iPod. With the new iPod do the same thing but set it up from a backup, NOT a new iPod.
it should be in your itunes librery
If you still have iTunes you should still have your music in it. So you can just put all the music on.OR if you made a playlist you should still have it in iTunes unless you deleted it.Just do what you did with the old one.
You would have to get i-tunes from the internet if you dont have it already. Then you can plug int he new ipod the same way you plugged in the old one and you should have the sync option. There i hope that works if not message me back and ill help you figure it out.
i don't think so when i tried to transfer songs on my shuffle to my ipod classic it said that all the songs were unable to be transferd but it might work when you do it - Well, If the songs are on your iTunes, it shouldn't be a problem. You might want to back up your files on a flash drive or just in another folder on your computer, just in case.
