There is two ways to take pictures. 1. screen shots - press and hold the power button and the volume button down for 2 seconds ( give or take ) for best result quickly press and hold the power button THEN the volume down button. But you have to do it fast! the reason why is that the volume control will pop on the scree if you press the volume down button first. 2. Camera and video - On amazon download the app "ES File Explorer" or download "Pic Shop Lite" both are free.

ES is a file explorer that lets you use kindle camera where as myCamera HD+ has its own customized camera and effects.
