Wearing a glove heat a pin til red and then press against the most bloodiest (darkest) area of the nail (do not push, it will burn through) yourr nail will make a small popping sound and the blood (which will be black) will pour out of the hole. I've just done it an hour ago and it didn't hurt one bit and finger feels much better. Make sure you clean afterwards. good luck
Do NOT do what the above poster has suggested. Putting a hole in the top of your nail vastly increases your chance of infection. I broke my finger a couple of weeks back and an urgent care clinic did this to my nail. After the procedure, they stressed the importance of taking the antibiotic they proscribed. The next week my primary care physician informed me of how dangerous this procedure is. It should only be done if a Dr. thinks it is necessary, and then generally antibiotics will be needed to insure that the entire finger does not get infected.

∙ 13y agoDon't mess with it. Just leave it be. If you want, you can put a band-aid on it for protection. Put some medicated cream on it for a few months or possibly a year. Your nail should heal after 7 months or more. You might have a little dent in the middle of your finger nail, but don't worry. It WILL go away. It's happened to me once, so I know how to treat it.
