This just happened to me today. I tool Aleve last night for the first time and within hours my bottom lip swelled to double its normal size, my eye lids, my nose and my left ear, strangely swelled as well. My doctor told me to double up on Zyrtec or any antihistamine and double Benadryl at night. He said if the symptoms dont dissipate in 24 hours to come in for a cortozone shot.
Usually, yes, with no problem, and you can drive, too. However, I found if I downed aleve & Zyrtec all at once/together, I became really drowsy/fatigued. This only happened today, and I fell asleep for approx. 3 hours from 11:45am-2:52pm. If you take zyrtec (or aleve...1-2 pills for aleve, 1 for ALL day for zyrtec), space one of them apart. For instance, take the zyrtec (or aleve) first, wait 1-2+ hours, then take the aleve (or zyrtec). Spacing it out a bit leaves no reaction, at least in my experience. (also I am 25/Female, if that makes any difference...I take them both due to allergic reactions to bug bites/mosquito bites, & headaches/muscle aches).
NO. ALEVE does not contain ibuprofen. ALEVE should not be taken with ibuprofen or any other pain reliever, unless your doctor has instructed you to do so. Do not take ALEVE if you have had either hives, facial swelling, asthma, or shock after taking any pain reliever/fever reducer. You may have a serious reaction. ALEVE contains naproxen sodium, 220 mg. ALEVE contains 200 mg of naproxen and 20 mg of sodium (salt) to help your body absorb ALEVE more quickly. It helps you feel pain relief faster than with naproxen alone.
some swelling is normal. i am assuming that this was a lower tooth that was removed. ice or a bag of frozen peas works well as an "ice pack" on the area. Please wrap the bag in a couple of paper towels first. do this on 20 minutes and off 20 minutes for the first 24 hours. providing you are not allergic to these meds or conflict with any of your other meds, i'd try maybe 800 milligrams of aleve or motrin. (this is not the usual dosage on the package, aleve used to be by rx only at a higher dosage). aspirin tends to cause bleeding. nothing hot or spicy . soft, cool diet. no straws for the first 24 hours. if you are still having problems after trying this, call the dentist.
Antibiotics reduce infection, not pain. If the dentist didn't prescribe any pain medication, you can take over-the-counter medication such as Moutrin, Aleve, Tylenol for pain. (I like Aleve because it also helps with the swelling.)
No. Naproxen is in Aleve.
Yes, combining oxycodone and aleve cause no adverse reactions. However, unless you are taking oxycontin, it is more than likely you are taking a preparation of oxycodone and a drug similar to aleve such as acetaminophen (tylenol) or ibuprofen (advil). Your prescription bottle will be labeled with any mixer in the preparation. If it has a mixer in it aleve would probably do little to further relieve pain, and taking aleve on top of a mixer could potentially be hard on your liver. unless you are absolutely positive there is no mixer, I would not suggest taking aleve with oxycodone.
There is no such English word as "aleve"
Her name is Aleve.
There are no reactions concerning the drugs. The only reactions listed for cetirizine hydrochloride is that it may increase central nervous system depression when taking central nervous system depressants.
Aleve has 20mg of sodium.
can you take aleve with azo
It is not recommended for a person to take Aleve (naproxen) if they have an allergy to another NSAID like Apsirin. It is important to see a doctor before using similar drugs. In general if a person has an allergy to one drug, they have a much higher risk of the same allergy to similar drugs.
