How do you treat hyperactive children?

Don't give them food and drink with much sugar in it. Let them play outside to release energy. Read to them a lot, as it is calming. Medication is so unnecessary.

Most children that are hyperactive need to be off ALL sugars and given a good diet. No pop, candies, anything with sugar in it and label reading is EXTREMELY important. You will be amazed at how much calmer children become after they are taken off sugar. As the above poster said let them release their energy by doing outside activities (fresh air makes them tired.)

I totally agree with the above poster regarding medications not needed.
