Well, for one, don't pop your neck. That will damage the vertabre. Try putting ice on it. The mussles will tighten and as soon as you feel the tightening, put heat on. This will loosen the mussle. It's an illusion. The tightening mussles will hurt worse and when they loosen, the pain is almost un recognizable. It's like stepping on your toe to no longer concentrate on an aching head, just a little different. No pain is caused anywhere else.
