For my cats, if they had waxy , smelly ears we cleaned them with kitchen roll. Then get some rosemary or lavender , put it in boiling water , let the water cool down and wash the ears with the water . It helped when we did it weekly or when they were getting smelly again . If there's alot of wax and it's kinda really dark in colour they may have an ear infection so if it carries on being bad , best thing to do is get it checked out.

∙ 14y agoTry some drops of white vinegar It will kill the smell and can't hurt your dog. If it turns out to be a yeast infection which is pretty common this works wonders. Also, use a cotton swab to clean with it or hydrogen peroxide.
